In Memoriam: Jesse "Chucho Tresvida" Martin Ruiz-Hopkins a.k.a. Swimming Through The Void
A bright shining light of luminous beingness has transitioned. Jesse “Chucho Tresvida” Martin Ruiz-Hopkins, 37, reportedly passed away in the early morning hours of May 5, 2026. Chucho was a gifted and powerful spiritual and metaphysical lightworker providing online and in-person astrological and tarot readings bundled with spiritual and metaphysical wisdom delivered as his online persona “Swimming Through The Void” (https://swimmingthroughthevoid.com / @SwimmingThroughTheVoid YT/IG/FB/TT/X).
Chucho reportedly passed shortly after doing a final YouTube Live stream with his community in the late hours of May 4, 2026. In the transmission Chucho openly shared that he was under a “directed attack of spiritual warfare” by what he described as “dark forces.” His children surround him in the video as he describes his challenges, including a current Ketu Mahadasha phase in his human form. That said, he was clearly under extreme duress, expressing that he experienced attempts on his life, but it is unclear what specifics are behind that specific statement. Throughout the video Chucho transmits a calmness amidst his adversity, modeling calm for his children despite his clearly distressed presentation. In the yogic and vedic spiritual traditions, the Ketu Mahadasha phase is described as a multidimensional cycle of comprehensive spiritual transformation, characterized as external physical distress eventually manifesting in a holistic cleansing of the soul force. Many lightworkers know intimately the impact of these kinds of spiritual warfare attacks, how they manifest, and what devastating consequences they can bring.
As a body of work, Chucho’s videos felt as if he was channelling higher source consciousness through his being. He often described his individual experience as being a “vessel” through which deeper messages flowed. He was and is truly a powerful vessel, bringing light to thousands, perhaps millions over his 37-year human journey (this time 😉). On YouTube alone he had amassed 199,000 subscribers and more than 13 million views of 1,413 transmissions. His other social accounts had similar numbers, and the Swimming Through The Void Facebook Group had loyal consistent member participation.
Jesse was open about his struggles with past incarceration and co-occurring addiction and mental health challenges. It was one of the things many in his online community, and I personally, appreciated and loved about his presence. The always-chill humility and grounded nature of his service to others was underpinned by a willingness, albeit briefly and subtly, to disclose slices of his background story — but he never made it about him. It was always about the community of light and the individuals he was serving. Jesse’s style of blending multiple spiritual and metaphysical traditions, direct and unflinching use of intentionally descriptive language, metaphor, and street-smart reality orientation, allowed even the most hardened skeptic to feel something from his videos. He took his time with each transmission, patterning a pace and attention to detail, using multiple decks for multi-aspect synergy in constructing readings as only the most gifted spiritual warriors can. He did not flinch from delivering both uplifting and motivating, but also challenging and difficult messages. He let the cards and the source inform the transmission, without apparent bias, judgement, or a hint of projected shame. Most notably, in his public videos he never pushed a hard sell for his private readings and other services, preferring to go the “open hand” route of delivering those services. He was running a business, but it did not seem it was about the money for him.
I did not know Jesse personally, and I did not have private sessions with him, mostly due to challenging finances on my end. I had intended to engage him in a private reading, but I was unable to do it when I wanted to. I interacted with him only through comments and DMs, but his YT and IG sessions always were on-point, direct, and unambiguous in their guidance. He was gracious and rarely left anyone hanging. He had gone dark publicly for the last year, notably stating that he continued to do private sessions up until the last livestream. He also stated that he knew what he was doing, and that he was of sound mind and sober during the final video.
Jesse completed his Earthly mission as “Chucho Tresvida,” transitioning back to the cosmos from where he emerged, after what he described was multiple lives, multiple journeys. He said this was the final time, and I take that to mean his soul force is now infinitely in a higher dimensional existence. He leaves behind 5 young children and a family who are collectively mourning their loss of his presence. In family videos of the bonfire ceremony to remember him, posted on the Swimming Through The Void YouTube Channel 4 days ago, the family has asked commenters to refrain from speculation and to not mention the children’s names in tributes. They are all in my meditations as they deal with living without his physical presence. I send them strength and comfort knowing his cosmic spirit and luminous beingness is with them always, just in a different, more powerful “un-fuck-withable” form. He was and is in his new form a true “spiritual gangster” fighting in the battle for higher consciousness and humanity’s ascension.
“GOAT GANG WHAT UP DOE!?!”
See you on the other side brother. Thank you for your service here.
